This policy covers the website rungs.unborn.in, the members' portal and the "JCI Salem Rungs" Android app, run by JCI Salem Rungs, a local chapter of JCI India. They are for our members and the people who take part in our programmes. We do not sell your information, show advertising or track you across other apps or websites.
What we keep
- Members: name, mobile number, email, address, date of birth, wedding anniversary, spouse and children's names and birthdays, business details, JCI role and membership dues. The chapter's office bearers add these from the membership register.
- Sign-in: your mobile number and a password (stored only as a one-way hash), and your role (member, treasurer or admin).
- Chapter accounts: income and expense entries, photos of bills and receipts you scan or upload, who entered or changed each entry and when.
- Events: RSVPs, attendance (including QR check-in), event photos and announcements.
- Website forms: what you send through Join Us, Contact Us or event registration, and payment references if you pay a registration fee online.
- App notifications: a notification token for your phone and its make and model, so we can send you chapter notifications.
How we use it
To run the chapter: keep the member register and accounts, send birthday, anniversary and event messages and dues reminders (by app notification and WhatsApp), record attendance, and reply to you. Bill photos are read for amounts and dates on your phone; the photo is uploaded only when you save the entry.
Who can see it
Members can see the member directory and events. Accounts are visible only to the treasurer and admins. We share information only with the services that run these features:
- our web host, whose server stores the data,
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver app notifications,
- WhatsApp (Meta), to deliver greetings and reminders when the chapter has turned this on,
- Razorpay, when you pay a registration fee online,
- Google Drive, where the chapter keeps copies of its nightly backup.
We may also disclose information when required by law.
On your phone
The app uses the camera only when you scan a bill, and your fingerprint or face only through Android's own unlock screen (we never receive it). Entries made without internet are kept on the phone until they can be sent.
How long we keep it
Account records are kept as long as the chapter needs them for its financial records and audits. Member details are kept while you are a member and removed when you ask us to, except where we must keep them for the accounts. Daily backups are kept for 14 days and one backup a month for a year; the copies in Google Drive are the last 30 backups.
Your choices and deleting your account
You can see and correct your details in the app or portal, or ask an office bearer. To delete your sign-in and member details, write to us through the Contact Us page or email jcisalemeungs@gmail.com from your registered number or email with "Delete my account". We will do it within 30 days; entries in the chapter accounts you made stay, as they are part of the financial records.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, sign-ins on the app use revocable tokens, and every change to the accounts is logged.
Children
The app is for adult members. Children's names and birthdays are added by their parent member only for greetings.
